Marco Polo (Italian 1254---1324)
He was a very famous traveler and Chinese high official, in his book<The travels of Marco Polo> he wrote: the ethnic embroidery was far beyond the Chinese China and Porcelain in terms of beauty.

An Austrian-American explorer, geographer, linguist and botanist, in his book <<The Ancient Naxi Kingdom of Southwest China>>, he wrote: The Naxi people who live at the foothill of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain are very good at doing handmade silk embroidery, especially in Baisha, hundreds merchants came from Dali, Tibet, Kunming, Burma, Laos and Vietnam respectively can be found everyday, they went there just for purchasing Naxi handmade embroidery from the Naxi wholesalers. They are embroidery dealers.

Peter Goullart (Russian 1886---1976)
A Russian explorer and author, as a representation of the Chinese industry cooperator, stayed in Lijiang for 8 years. In his book <The Forgotten Kingdom >, he described: Compared to the Chinese Han people who lived in inland China, the living conditions of the Naxi people in Lijiang are very poor, but their handmade silk embroidery are well known both at China and the South Asia.
